Multifunctional Cleaning Kit 14-in-1 CL4 holds fourteen tools for cleaning a phone, a keyboard, earphones and a camera lens, stored in a single box measuring 110 x 60 x 25 mm. Fourteen tools split up by job

The kit is put together to cover a whole device, not just the display. The brush with 7 rows of bristles is meant for the keyboard and larger surfaces, the spray bottle with the cloth for display glass, the bent brush with the sponge for ports and grilles, the soft brush with the metal tip for earphones, and the brush with a flat bundle of bristles for the camera lens. On top of that there are a keycap puller, a SIM pin and an extension rod that adds reach to the cleaning pen. Every part is visible through the transparent lid, so after each cleaning you can tell whether some tool has not made it back into its slot. The kit covers mechanical cleaning of surfaces, gaps and openings.

Built-in phone stand

In the lower part of the box there is a fold-out foot that you lean the phone against on a desk. The display then stays in one plane and you guide the cloth evenly across the whole surface, instead of holding the phone with one hand and wiping with the other. The stand is part of the kit's body, so it adds no extra piece that could get lost. You will use it after cleaning too, when you prop the phone up next to a laptop or during a video call.

Brush with 7 rows of bristles

The main brush is made up of seven densely set rows of bristles side by side, so one pass covers the width of several keys at once. You get dust and crumbs out of the gaps between keys faster than with a narrow single-row brush that has to travel through every gap separately. The bristles are soft and springy, which is why they also suit a speaker grille, the vents of a laptop or the gap between the display and the frame. The brush works dry; for greasy fingerprints on glass the kit has the spray bottle with the cloth.

Refillable spray bottle and display cloth

The spray is designed as a refillable bottle, not as a single-use ampoule; once it runs out you top it up with display cleaning fluid and keep using it. The nozzle breaks the liquid into a fine mist, so you put only as much fluid on the glass as it needs and no drops run down towards the frame. The cloth is integrated into the back of the box and so stays with the spray bottle at all times. The spray bottle with the cloth deals with greasy fingerprints and smears that the brushes alone cannot handle.

Metal tip and earphone brush

The metal tip of the cleaning pen has a thin point for the places the bristles cannot reach: the edge of an earphone mesh, the gap around a button or the groove around the camera lens cover. The earphone brush has soft bristles and is meant for the microphone and noise-cancelling openings of earbuds, where dust settles together with earwax. Both tools work on areas a few millimetres across, where a cloth only pushes the dirt out to the sides. Go gently with the metal tip; the point is harder than plastic and than the fabric of the mesh.

Bent brush and soft sponge

The bent brush has its head turned at a right angle, so you get into a charging port from the side and can still see where the bristles are going. Compacted dust at the bottom of a port is a common reason why a cable sits loose in a phone or why charging keeps cutting out; the brush loosens it without metal tools that could bend the contacts. The flocked sponge is soft and slightly absorbent, and it suits the recesses of an earphone charging case and the corners that a brush only skims across. Both parts of the kit are aimed at closed spaces where the dirt has to be pulled out, not pushed deeper in.

Camera lens brush and short soft brush

The camera lens brush has its bristles trimmed flat, so it sits on the whole area of the camera cover glass and collects the dry dust across the whole surface at once. The short brush with a dense soft bundle of bristles is meant for the display frame, the earpiece grille and the area around the ports, where the volume of bristles matters more than their stiffness. With optics the order of the steps matters: if the glass is wiped before the grains of dust are removed from it, they can leave fine scratches as they are rubbed across it.
