Mobile Origin CB14 is a USB-C cable with a rotatable connector and magnetic self-winding: the connector tilts and rotates 540°, and magnets built into the cable keep it coiled into a circle after being rolled up. It transfers up to 240 W according to the USB Power Delivery 3.1 standard (48 V / 5 A), so it will charge not only phones but also gaming laptops and MacBook Pros.

540° connector rotation

Konektor kabelu CB14 se pohybuje ve dvou osách. Kloub u kabelu se ohýbá až o 180°, takže konektor vede do portu i tehdy, když je zásuvka těsně u zdi, za postelí nebo na boku notebooku. Na kloub navazuje otočení samotného konektoru o 360°, díky kterému se kabel při manipulaci nekroutí a netlačí port do strany. Celkový rozsah 540° (kloub 180° plus otočení 360°) využiješ hlavně při hraní, sledování filmů nebo práci, kdy se zařízením často pohybuješ a běžný rovný konektor by kabel i port zbytečně namáhal.

Nylon braided, aluminum design, and tested durability

Durability is supported by the nylon braiding and aluminum alloy metal parts, a combination of materials suitable for places where the cable is frequently bent and moved. Mobile Origin states testing for 5,000 bending cycles and 10,000 plug-in and unplug cycles. This is especially important for a cable with a movable joint that is designed for frequent handling.

Built-in magnets keep the cable coiled

Magnets are built directly into the cable at regular intervals. When you coil the cable and bring its parts close together, the magnets hold them in place, and the cable stays coiled in a circle instead of unraveling into a mess. This way, it fits neatly rolled up into a backpack, a laptop case pocket, or a drawer, and it lies coiled next to your laptop on the desk, ready for use. The magnets are tuned for a length of 1 meter, so they hold reliably along the entire length of this cable.

Up to 240W and passive E-mark

The CB14 contains a passive E-mark chip that tells the charger the cable can handle currents up to 5A. With a compatible USB Power Delivery 3.1 charger, the cable can transfer up to 240W (48V / 5A) – the power needed for fully charging gaming laptops, MacBook Pros, or powerful tablets. The power transfer itself is negotiated between the charger and the device; the cable does not intervene and remains compatible with any USB PD charger regardless of brand. Both ends of the cable have a USB-C connector.

LED charging indicator

There is a small LED in the rotating connector body that lights up when charging begins. A single glance at the connector confirms that the cable is properly connected and power is flowing, without needing to check the device display. This is especially useful for devices that do not indicate charging progress with sound or on the screen.

Dimensions and weight

The total cable length is 1 m, which is convenient for connecting a laptop to an outlet or a phone to a charger on a desk. Weighing 48g, the cable is easy to carry in a backpack or laptop sleeve pocket, and when coiled, it stays coiled in the magnetic ring. The rotating connector head measures 10 x 44 mm, so even with the tilting joint, it won't interfere with adjacent ports.
