The Mobile Origin A8 is a case for the Apple AirTag that replaces the CR2032 button cell with a higher-capacity CR2477 and extends battery life from roughly one year to 5 to 8 years. The AirTag goes in by twisting the cap open, with no screwdriver and no modification to the tracker itself. A silicone seal keeps the IP68 rating at 1 m of water for 60 minutes, and the CR2477 battery is included.
Five key advantages
- 5 to 8 years of battery life instead of one: the 1,000 mAh CR2477 cell replaces the CR2032 with about 220 mAh, so you can leave the tracker alone for years.
- IP68 rating: a food-grade silicone o-ring seals the joint between cap and body, and the assembly withstands 1 m of water for 60 minutes.
- Compatible with AirTag 1st and 2nd generation: the contact springs meet both models, and the AirTag needs no modification or soldering.
- Tool-free battery swap: the cap twists open, the whole job takes a few seconds and needs no screwdriver.
- Certified for air and sea transport: under UN38.3 the CR2477 falls into Class 9, PI 968 IB for air cargo and SP 188 for sea freight, and the case also passed ANSI/UL 4200A-2023 testing.
Apple AirTag is not included.
