This is particularly important for more powerful laptops, docking stations, and adapters with USB PD, where it determines whether the cable can handle 100 W or even PD 3.1 EPR modes with up to 240 W.

The maximum power output of 240 W corresponds to the parameters of 48 V / 5 A and is based on USB Power Delivery 3.1 with an extended profile EPR (Extended Power Range). The cable is also backward compatible with PD 3.0 and PD 2.0, so it works seamlessly with older USB-C devices – however, the power output will always adapt to what the charger and the device itself support. It makes particular sense for more powerful laptops, docking stations, and power adapters, where 60 W or 100 W may no longer be sufficient. If you have a compatible charger and device that supports PD 3.1 EPR, the cable will not limit the available power up to 240 W.

The connector body combines aluminum alloy and a reinforced cable outlet, so the stressed parts better withstand repeated bending. The nylon braiding protects the cable surface against abrasion and also helps to reduce fraying, which is common with soft plastic cables.
