Semi-Solid Power Banks

Semi-Solid State is the first fundamental change in power bank battery cell construction in more than ten years. Instead of a flammable liquid electrolyte it works with a dense gel – which means higher safety, a longer lifespan and more relaxed travelling.

Gel instead of flammable liquid

A classic Li-ion battery contains roughly 20% flammable organic solvent. A hard impact, a short circuit or overheating can lead to uncontrolled overheating that may end in fire. A Semi-Solid State battery replaces most of this liquid with a gel that holds its shape, does not spill when damaged and, in penetration tests, does not ignite where an ordinary cell burns immediately.

2–3× more charging cycles

An ordinary power bank manages 300–500 charging cycles before it starts noticeably losing capacity. A Semi-Solid State cell declares approximately 1,000 cycles – with everyday charging that is the difference between a year and a half and roughly three years of reliable endurance.

Ready for the new flight rules

The rules for power banks on planes are getting stricter from 2026. Semi-Solid State power banks with a capacity under 100 Wh travel normally in your carry-on – and the significantly lower content of flammable liquid is an extra bonus for more relaxed travelling.
